How to use the clearance guide

The clearance guide lists wine and spirits clearance lines at BWS stores across Australia. Here are a few questions that come up often in use.

What this site is

BWS marks down clearance products at individual stores. The price and the stock are different at each store. The BWS website lists clearance products, but it does not always show which stores have them in stock, or at what price.

This guide checks each BWS store and lists the clearance products that are in stock, with the store, the price and the approximate stock. Use it to see what is available near you and at what price.

The guide shows clearance products only. It does not currently show general specials, which usually apply to more stores.

Show stores near you

Often, the stores you care about are the ones closest to you. The Stores filter sorts stores by distance, lets you search by suburb or postcode, and remembers the groups you save locally on your device, so you can switch between them.

  1. Select your region

    Location groups BWS stores by state and region. Select your region, or select a state name to see all stores in that state.

  2. Sort stores by distance

    Select Near me. Your browser asks for permission to use your location. Stores are then listed nearest first, with the distance. Your location is kept on your device only.

    • Search for a suburb or postcode

      Open Stores and type a suburb, store name or postcode in the search box.

    • Select the stores you want

      Select All or None, then tick or untick stores. The offers table updates as you change the selection. The selection is saved on your device.

        Select Save selection and enter a name. Saved groups are shown as chips. Select a chip to apply it. If you change the selection while a group is active, select Update to save the change.

        Read the offers table

        Each row is one product. The Stores column lists the selected stores that have the product. Select a row to see each store, the approximate stock, and a map.

        At Grant Burge Wines, we challenged ourselves to come up with the most vibrant and impactful wines possible. The result was ink. This is a lush and bold Shiraz with a dash of fortified wine showcasing sweet fruit, depth of shiraz flavour and a huge amount of warmth and generosity.

        • Select a column heading to sort by that column. The default sort is by largest saving.
        • When Near me is on, stores are listed nearest first. Sorting by the Stores column then puts products at your nearest store first.
        • The number after ~ is the stock BWS reported for that store at the last check. It is an estimate.
        • Select a store name to open that store's page on the BWS website.

        Rows per page

        The Show menu above the table sets the number of rows per page. Auto fits the rows to the height of your window, so the page does not scroll. Select a number to show that many rows and scroll instead. Page buttons are below the table.

        Get the clearance price

        Clearance prices apply to specific stores. The BWS website shows the price and stock for the store currently set on the BWS website, which is usually your nearest store.

        If you open Find It on BWS and see the regular price or no stock, the BWS website is set to a store that does not have the offer. To see the clearance price:

        1. Select the row in the guide. Note the stores listed under it.
        2. Select Find It on BWS. The product page opens on the BWS website.
        3. On the BWS website, change the store to one of the stores from the list. The store selector is at the top of the BWS page.
        4. The BWS page shows the clearance price for that store. You can order for pickup or delivery from that store, or buy in store.

        The guide checks BWS once a day. Stock can sell out between checks.

        Stack deals with cashback

        Cashback sites pay back part of what you spend at BWS online, often 20% or more, on top of the clearance price. The best current rate is shown in the footer of the offers page.

        To use cashback:

        1. Sign up to ShopBack or TopCashback.
        2. Find a deal in the guide and set the store on BWS, as above.
        3. Open the cashback site, find BWS, and select its link to the BWS website.
        4. Place the order on BWS in the same browser session.

        Cashback applies to online orders placed after you click through from the cashback site. It does not apply in store.

        Where's the beer

        BWS provides clearance pricing for wine and spirits. While BWS technically has a beer clearance category on its website, unfortunately it does not usually contain any products.

        About the data

        Prices, savings and stock numbers come from the BWS website. They are updated daily, so an offer can sell out before you get there.

        RRP is the regular price before the discount.

        BWS does not offer online clearance in the Northern Territory because of local liquor licensing restrictions, so there are no offers to show for the NT.
